These things turned out to be more of a headache (literally) than the ridge pole. Built on the floor to then stand up in the gaps left in the walls should have been fairly simple...should have been. Imagine 5 planks of 2x6, 16’ high, banged together with probably 5lbs of nails!

Thankfully being stubborn goes a long way; this last wee while seems to be characterised by frustrations and difficulties. Square to the Earth

I stumbled over the cabin site trying to locate one of the corners of the property in the late Spring. The natural bench and potential view made it a great place to build, except of course for the forest that stood guardian over the site.
