Cabin progress

2 September 2009 | Category: Building | Author: Clare

The lumber is on site for the wall framing, and both 24’ sides of the cabin (the lengths) are standing. By Sunday both gable ends should be up and I will hopefully be working on the ridge pole; that’s really exciting.

I would have waited to send this update until the four walls were framed in, but finishing up with the office means I will have more convoluted internet access and so here’s a progress report while I can still upload pictures relatively quickly (don’t worry Mum, I am working on it :). ...[Read More]

Building blocks

Building progress

The photos will tell a better story than I can about the progress on site.  As a quick synopsis:

Bought enough lumber to do the floor, to get started. Floor and deck beams put together and laid out (thank you guys again for the wood). The joists were cut to size, wee runners put on, & framed into 4 pieces (later joined together like a jigsaw puzzle). ...[Read More]
