Pounding nails

8 August 2009 | Category: Stories | Author: Clare

Based on the cabin experiences this week, I think I like pounding nails as much as chopping wood.

Both using an axe and building are probably rooted in such primal needs that they are accompanied by a deep sense of satisfaction; driving nails into something you intend to live in is one of the most awesome feelings.

I really am at peace from the frenzy when I am busy with an axe or working on my cabin. Hunting is probably the only other activity that has that same sense of grounding, though inevitably there is too much stimulation and excitement for that to be truly relaxing in the same way.
